1. Personally I support a claim for 15% now and recently spoke at the UNISON Health Executive and said they should organise a major consultation exercise throughout all Health branches to discuss this claim. I said if elected General Secretary, I would want this to happen.
2. I have attended the demonstrations in London, two in August and one in September. I tried to speak at one of them in August but they ran out of time. I’ve left videos of my attendance at two of the demos on my Facebook page Hugo Pierre 4 UNISON General Secretary.
3. I think UNISON should be mobilising members for an immediate Pay rise now. This could assist a campaign from next April too.
4. Again I believe that there has never been a better time for unison and the other NHS trade unions to fight for a better pay rise for healthcare workers. The mobilisations should be used to prepare members on the ground for a national strike ballot. All the unions could coordinate this. The TUC should give a statement of solidarity from its constituent members and agree to organise the widest support among affiliated unions and the wider working class.
